“Saturday Night Live” veteran Beth McCarthy Miller is set to direct TAMMY, a starring vehicle for “Molly and Mike” star Melissa McCarthy, who also penned the script. The project follows a woman (McCarthy) who is laid off from her job, discovers her husband is having an affair, and decides to go on a road trip with her foul-mouthed, diabetic grandmother. “The Help” director Tate Taylor was previously on board but the deal never went though. Miller’s directing credits include “Californication” and “Modern Family.”
McCarthy will also executive produce alongside Ben Falcone.
Miller is repped by CAA.
