Funnyman Bill Murray is set to voice Baloo the bear for Jon Favreau’s THE JUNGLE BOOK. Based on the Rudyard Kipling book, the project will be a CGI/live action hybrid and centers on Neel Sethi’s Mowgli as he navigates the dangerous jungle with his animated friends. Murray will be in good company for the project, as Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, Giancarlo Esposito, and Lupita Nyong’o have all been cast in various voice roles for the Disney version of the classic.
While Murray is best known for his classic comedy roles, he’s also known for taking on more quirky projects…and just being quirky in general. His last few projects have been a mix of comedy, biopic and drama, including “Hyde Park on the Hudson,” “The Monuments Men,” and Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” Murray’s next big project will be Barry Levinson’s comedy “Rock the Kasbah.”
