Bill Paxton has lined up his third directorial venture with THE BOTTOMS, which is based on the book by Joe R Lansdale. Set in East Texas, the story follows a family who stumble across the body of a black woman who has been savagely mutilated and left to die in the bottom of the Sabine River. The townsfolk cover up the crime until the body of a white woman is found in similar circumstances and it falls to the family to unearth the truth.
Brent Hanley (“Frailty”) will write. Nicholas Shumaker, Emilie Georges, Nicholas Kaiser and Naima Abed will produce.
Paxton last directed 2005’s “The Greatest Game Ever Played” but most agree his best directorial work is 2001’s “Frailty.”
He is repped by UTA.
