The upcoming Netflix thriller GYPSY has tapped Billy Crudup to star opposite Naomi Watts. Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson is set to direct the first two episodes of 10 that will premiere in 2017.
The series will follow therapist Jean Holloway (Watts) who begins to develop intimate and dangerous relationships with people in her patients’ lives. Crudup is set to play Jean’s husband Michael, who struggles through their twisted and complicated marriage and his own morally gray relationships.
Lisa Rubin serves as a writer of the series as well as executive producer alongside Liza Chasin. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Andrew Stearn and Watts will also serve as executive producers.
Crudup starred in the Academy Award-winning drama Spotlight as well as The Stanford Prison Experiment. He recently wrapped Alien: Covenant and can be seen next in Jackie starring Natalie Portman.
