Following Selena Gomez’s attachment to the project a few weeks ago, Billy on the Street creator Billy Eichner is now moving in to NEIGHBORS 2. The 2014 original’s stars Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron, Dave Franco, Carla Gallo, and Ike Barinholtz are all returning for another college comedy pitting Rogen and Byrne’s young parents against a group of ruthless students.
This time around, the pair will do battle with a vicious sorority, likely teaming up with Efron/Franco’s old fraternity to take the sadistic sisters down. Chloe Grace Moretz will play the head of the snake, while Gomez, Kiersey Clemons, and Beanie Feldstein play a few of the chapter’s devotees. No word yet on what character Eichner will be playing. Liz Cackowski will also be reprising her role as Wendy the realtor.
Nicholas Stoller is back in the director’s chair, working with a script from Andrew Jay Cohen, Brendan O’Brien, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg. The film is currently in production.
Eichner, who’s best known for creating and staring in his game show Billy on the Street, most recently appeared on Parks and Recreation. He currently stars on Hulu’s comedy Difficult People, which just got a second season renewal, and is working on season of Billy on the Street. The comedian will next star in another suburban comedy, Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler’s The House.
