The Studio 8 and Battle Mountain Films project is based on an original idea that will center on a young man mentored by an experienced thief. As he rises in the ranks, the young man reaches a crossroads when he must choose between his family and ambition.
Munzi will pen the script with Zach Baylin. John Wells and Claire Rudnick Polstein from Battle Mountain are set to produce with Zach Studin posed to serve as executive producer. Jon Silk and Bob Brassel will oversee the project on behalf of Studio 8.
Munzi directed the lauded Black Souls which premiered at the 71st Venice International Film Festival in 2014. The film went on to win Italy’s David Di Donatello Award for Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay in 2015.
He is repped by WME.
