Netflix has renewed its acclaimed animated series Bojack Horseman for a fifth season, the streaming network announced Thursday.
Will Arnett voices the titular character, a horse and failed legendary ‘90s sitcom star from the favorite family sitcom Horsin’ Around, who has been trying to find his way through a muddle of self-loathing, whisky and failed relationships. Now, in the presence of his human sidekick Todd (Aaron Paul) and his feline agent and ex-paramour Princess Carolyn (Amy Sedaris), BoJack is primed for his comeback.
The renewal comes just weeks after the show’s fourth season was launched on Netflix on September 8.
With the Season 5 renewal, Bojack joins the ranks of longest-running Netflix original shows. Currently only House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black have made it to five seasons.
The news was also shared via social media – in typical Bojack fashion, via text from “clingy Neflix exec.”
