Brad Garrett is joining the cast of Showtime’s I’M DYING UP HERE for Season 2, the premium cable network announced Thursday.
The series stars Melissa Leo, Ari Graynor, Michael Angarano, Clark Duke, Andrew Santino, Erik Griffin, RJ Cyler, Al Madrigal and Jake Lacy and is set in the 1970s standup comedy scene.
It was renewed despite a mixed first season, and Showtime president David Nevins recently explained that Season 2 will see changes, including adding “new urgency and deeper relationships.”
Garrett will play comedy legend Roy Martin, who arrives on the scene at Goldie’s and drops bombs and wisdom on the club’s comics. Goldie (Leo) lures him into a business partnership as she schemes to expand her empire. Garrett will recur throughout the season.
Created and executive produced by Dave Flebotte and executive produced by Jim Carrey, Michael Aguilar and Christina Wayne, the series is now in production on Season 2, with 10 episodes premiering on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
