Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling will star in Paramount and Plan B’s adaptation THE BIG SHORT, written and directed by Adam McKay. The script, an adaptation of Michael Lewis’ novel “The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine,” depicts the build-up of the housing and credit bubble during the 2000s, following specific people who played a key role in the financial crisis of 2007-2010. Pitt and DeDe Gardner will serve as producers. Paramount Pictures and Plan B Entertainment will produce.
All award winning actors in their own right, Pitt was last seen in Fury and as the producer on recent films such as Selma, Big Men and 12 Years a Slave. Bale was last seen in Exodus: Gods and Kings and will soon shoot Travis McGee’s The Deep Blue Goodbye. Gosling just wrapped production on the Warner Bros. thriller The Nice Guys.
Pitt is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment. Bale is repped by WME. Gosling is repped by Anonymous Content and LBI Entertainment.
