“Bridge Of Spies” Writer Sets Up “Battle For Alcatraz” At Paramount

, the writer behind Spielberg’s latest Bridge of Spies (see Wil Loper’s review here), is switching to producing on his next film, . The film is based on the true story of the three day battle at the infamous federal prison, in which six inmates attempted escape and a full blown battle ensued, leading to five deaths, and a dozen injuries. Two of the surviving inmates were later executed. 

In addition to the Spielberg film, Charman also wrote Suite Francaise starring Michelle Williams and Margot Robbie, and the psychological-thriller miniseries Black Work.
