Bryan Cranston is going back to playing the protective father for WHY HIM?, but, you know, no meth this time. James Franco is already attached to play his antagonist.
When a father (Cranston) brings his family out to California to surprise his daughter for Christmas, he ends up having to compete with her new silicon-valley-billionaire boyfriend (Franco). The films is set for ridiculous laughs, and Cranston is an ideal choice considering his past on Malcolm in the Middle.
Dan Levine and Jeremy Kramer are overseeing for 21 Laps and Fox, respectively. John Hamburg will be directing his own script. Ben Stiller is also attached to produced for his company, Red Hour Films.
Cranston can be seen next at TIFF in the premiere of Trumbo, a biopic of legendary blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo and his fight against the HUAC. He is repped by UTA.
