There have been talks about Bryan Singer directing the movie adaptation of 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA. The talks have become a reality because Singer has officially signed on to captain the film version of Jules Verne‘s classic novel from 1870.
20th Century Fox will release the film and production is set start this fall. Rick Sordelet and Dan Studney will write the screenplay, which is expected to be a retelling of the story with the novel’s original characters Captain Nemo, Ned Land, and Professor Aronnax.
Next up for Singer is X-Men: Apocalypse, the latest installment of the blockbuster comic book franchise starring Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender. It is slated for release on May 27, 2016.
Singer is repped by WME.
