Nicholas Brendon might have escaped Sunnydale with his life, if not both eyes (too soon?), but the beloved sidekick of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is returning to the drama of high school once more. He’s joined the cast of MTV’s FAKING IT as a guest star. The comedy follows two best friends Amy (Rita Volk) and Karma (Katie Stevens) who fake a lesbian relationship in order to rise up the social ranks at a Texas high school. Brendon is set to appear in the second season finale as Jackson Lee, a professional artist who is interviewing students for a prestigious fellowship at an art school.
After starring as Xander Harris on “Buffy” for all seven seasons (and only missing one episode), Brendon found on a role on CBS’ “Criminal Minds” as FBI technical analyst Kevin Lynch. He recently appeared in John Hawthorne Smith’s indie thriller/mystery “Indigo,” about a successful photographer and recovering heroin addict who tries to solve a mystery and conquer his demons after his son is kidnapped. Outside of acting, Brendon is currently part of the writing team for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten,” a comic that operates as a canonical continuation of the show.
