Two beloved Hollywood comedians are teaming up in a new multi-camera comedy at ABC with a put pilot commitment. Carol Burnett is set to join Amy Poehler in an untitled series from writer and executive producer Michael Saltzman.
In the series, a family finds their dream house but can only live in it if they agree to live with the current owner — an actress (Burnett) — until she passes away.
Poehler will also executive producer under her Paper Kite banner, alongside Brooke Posch, Dave Becky, and Michael Pelmont.
No one here is a stranger to television. Saltzman has served as executive producer on series like Mad Man, Hell on Wheels, and Halt and Catch Fire.
Poehler first became known on Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2008, where she eventually became co-anchor of Weekend Update with Tina Fey. She then landed the lead role of Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation for seven seasons, for which she won a Golden Globe.
Burnett received 11 Emmy nominations for her self-titled comedy show and won six. She most recently appeared in the new iteration of Hawaii Five-0.
