How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are looking to make another hit with a yet-to-be-titled family comedy at CBS. The network has given a pilot production commitment to the duo for the new series.
The series will follow Izzy and Chris, two 20-somethings who are raising their newborn daughter and merging their Puerto Rican and Italian families.
Bays and Thomas are set to write the pilot alongside Chris Distefano. The three will also serve as executive producers with Brian Bockrath for the potential series.
The duo’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy How I Met Your Mother lasted nine seasons on CBS and was considered one of the most successful sitcoms of all time. They also created a pilot for How I Met Your Dad which didn’t make it to series.
