CASUAL will be coming to an end on Hulu in 2018, the streaming network confirmed Thursday.
Hulu has ordered a short fourth season – just eight episodes – of the Jason Reitman comedy, which will wrap up the story of Valerie (Michaela Watkins), a newly divorced single mother, her brother Alex (Tommy Dewey) and her daughter Laura (Tara Lynne Barr).
The Lionsgate TV series was created by Zander Lehmann and directed by Reitman, and was Hulu’s answer to Netflix and Amazon’s foray into premium original series like House of Cards and Transparent.
It premiered with a 10-episode first season in October of 2015, with Hulu going against the grain and releasing each episode individually on a weekly basis, more like a traditional network. Season 3, which consisted of 13 episodes, same as Season 2, wrapped up on August 1, 2017.
