Child actors Chandler Riggs and Joel Courtney will star, alongside Frances O’Connor, in MERCY for Universal Pictures. The project is adapted from the Stephen King short story “Gramma”.
Story follows a single mother (O’Connor) who takes her two boys to take care of their elderly grandmother who happens to be a witch who works with dark forces. Riggs and Courtney will play the two brothers.
Producing will be McG, Jason Blum and Mary Viola.
Riggs is known for AMC’s “Walking Dead”, currently airing its third season and had a role in 2010’s period drama “Get Low”. Courtney has he debut in “Super 8” and will next be seen in “The Healer” and “Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn”, both already wrapped.
Courtney is repped by CAA.
