Sons of Anarchy alum Charlie Hunnam and Spectre star Lea Seydoux are set to topline the romance ZOE from Equals director Drake Doremus.
Combining science and romance, the film is set at a revolutionary research lab that designs technology set to improve and perfect relationships. Hunnam and Seydoux will play colleagues whose discoveries become more profound than they could have ever imagined.
Doremus will direct the script by Richard Greenberg. IM Global recently announced that it will fully finance the project. Michael Pruss from Scott Free will produce alongside Doremus and Robert George. Ridley Scott will serve as executive producer with IM Global’s Stuart Ford, Greg Shapiro, and Kate Buckley. IM Global is also handling international sales, with UTA representing domestic rights.
“Greg and I are both longtime admirers of Drake’s talent,” said Ford in a statement. “With Zoe we feel as if he is come up with a potentially commercial and critical success, and he has already attached an outstandingly talented cast in Charlie and Lea. We’re genuinely excited about the film’s global box-office potential.”
Hunnam is currently filming Michael Noer’s remake of Papillon and can be seen next in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
Seydoux recently starred in Diary of a Chambermaid and stars in the Zavier Dolan drama It’s Only the End of the World opposite Marion Cotillard and Vincent Cassel.
Hunnam is repped by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment, and Todd Shemarya Artists.
Seydoux is repped by WME, United Agents, and Agence Adequat.
