The CW’s CHARMED reboot has found another of its three witch sisters in Shades of Blue star Sarah Jeffery, Tracking Board has confirmed.
The actress joins the previously cast Melonie Diaz, with one last sister character still to be cast. Jeffery will play Madison, described as a bubbly college freshman who finds witchcraft at odds with her goal of getting in to a super fun sorority.
Charmed is described as a fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series, which centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.
Diaz will play Mel, one of the three sisters who is described as a passionate, outspoken activist who loses her way in the wake of a family tragedy.
Darius Blain, who plays the boyfriend of the third sister, Macy, is also part of the pilot cast.
Jane the Virgin scribe Amy Radin and Jessica O’Toole penned the script with a story by Jennie Urman. The trio is exec producing the CBS Television Studios drama alongside Ben Silverman. Brad Silberling is set to direct the pilot episode.
Jeffery most recently played Jennifer Lopez’s daughter on three seasons of NBC’s cop drama Shades of Blue, with the third season yet to premiere. She could conceivably do both shows if the NBC drama gets renewed for a fourth season. She is represented by Alchemy Entertainment and Play Management.
