“Charmed” Reboot, Supernatural Drama “Dead Inside” Picked Up to Pilot at The CW

The CW has picked up , a reboot of the classic 90s witchcraft drama, as well as supernatural drama , to pilot.

The new Charmed is described as a fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series, which centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.

Jane the Virgin team Jessica O’Toole & Amy Rardin are writing the new pilot, with Jennie Urman also on board as an executive producer. Brad Silberling will direct and also serve as an EP along with Ben Silverman on the CBS TV Studios project.

Dead Inside hails from Katie Lovejoy and executive producer Bill Lawrence, and follows an underachieving beat cop. After surviving an explosion that killed her hotshot detective big brother, she starts seeing his ghost, flipping their sibling dynamic on its head and allowing her to truly live her life for the first time, as they work together to help crime victims both living and dead, and figure out the unfinished business keeping his spirit on Earth.

Jeff Ingold will serve as an EP alongside Lovejoy and Lawrence on the Warner Bros TV project.
