Horror movie veteran Tom Holland is making his way back to the big screen with the upcoming pic ROCK PAPER DEAD. The mind behind iconic horror classics like Fright Night and Child’s Play has assembled an all-star team for the project including Emmy-nominated makeup effects artist Vincent Guastini, composer Harry Manfredini, and Friday the 13th scribe Victor Miller, who will co-write the script with Kerry Fleming.
The movie follows Peter Harris, who is also known as “The Doll Maker,” a serial killer who returns to his family estate after being released from the hospital for the criminally insane after 20 years. Once inside the old house, horrible memories from a tortured childhood and visitations from past victims torment him, but it isn’t until the lovely young Ashley enters his life that Peter makes a fateful decision, one that rekindles old desires that always have ended in murder.
Amy Williams and Miller are set to produce alongside Guastini, who will also create a line of serial killer-inspired dolls and masks based on the film. The dolls will be from the the Doll Maker’s collection of victim dolls and represent each of the serial killer’s victims shown in the film. These will be available in stores on Halloween 2017, right before the expected release of the movie.
In addition to the aforementioned classics, Holland (not to be confused with the new Spider-Man) has a long list of horror credits including adaptations of Stephen King’s Thinner and The Langoliers. He also penned Psycho II and directed several episodes of Tales from the Crypt.
