Chris Pine and Jake Gyllenhaal are looking to put their singing talents to the test in Disney’s INTO THE WOODS.
The pair would join Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep in the film, which intertwines fairy-tale characters including Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood with the story of a baker and his wife’s attempt to have a family. There’s no word on what roles the actors would take in the film, which will be directed by Rob Marshall, who is also producing with John DeLuca and Marc Platt.
Pine has been keeping plenty busy with this sequel “Star Trek into Darkness” coming out and action-thriller “Jack Ryan” having wrapped. Gyllenhaal, who last starred in David Ayer’s cop drama “End of Watch”, will next appear in Denis Villeneuve’s “Prisoners”.
