Christopher Lloyd Boards “The Big Bang Theory” as Guest Star

Back to the Future icon is set to bring 1.21 gigawatts of comedy to the CBS’ coveted sitcom .

There has been no word on who Lloyd will be playing, but his episode will air on Thursday December 1.

“We’re so excited to be working with Lloyd, and think we’ve created a fun part that fans will really enjoy,” said The Big Bang Theory’s executive producers in a statement.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement of The Big Bang Theory spinoff series in development at CBS. The prequel will focus on a younger version of Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper. Parson is attached to executive produce the spinoff.

Lloyd is a legendary of TV and film, having starred in the aforementioned Back to the Future franchise, the classic One Flew Over Cuckoo’s Nest as well as his award-winning performance on TV’s Taxi. He recently appeared in the thriller I Am Not a Serial Killer and can be seen next in Zach Braff’s Going In Style as well as SyFy’s 12 Monkeys.
