Sarah Baker has landed a series regular role on Chuck Lorre’s new Netflix sitcom THE KOMINSKY METHOD, opposite Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin, and several more actors have signed on in recurring and guest roles as well.
In the Lorre-penned series, Douglas will play Sandy Kominsky, a Hollywood acting coach who was once a successful actor, while Arkin plays his agent and friend, Norman. Nancy Travis was also previously cast.
Baker (Big Little Lies) will play the role of Mindy, the caring, hard-working, straight-shooting daughter of Sandy Kominsky (Douglas). She keeps the acting studio — and her father — from imploding, and even though it appears she lives in her father’s shadow, she is a Kominsky and beware anyone who forgets that.
Also joining the cast are recurring guest stars Susan Sullivan, Emily Osment, Graham Rogers, Ashleigh LaThrop, Jenna Lyng Adams, Melissa Tang and guest star Casey Brown.
Sullivan will play Arkin’s character Norman’s wife Eileen, while Osment, Rogers, LaThrop, Adams, Tang and Brown all play students in Kominsky’s acting class.
Lorre’s show is produced by Warner Bros. TV and his Chuck Lorre Productions with Lorre and Douglas executive producing. Douglas previously came onto the project when it was in development at the studio.
