Cinemax has begun development on martial arts crime drama WARRIOR. Known for his groundbreaking achievements in the world of martial arts cinema, Bruce Lee has created numerous classics, including Enter The Dragon, inspiring many filmmakers that would follow in his legacy. Fast and Furious and True Detective season two director Justin Lin is set to direct the pilot of the upcoming series based on Lee’s writings. The pilot episode was written by Jonathan Tropper, co-creator of the hit Cinemax original series Banshee. Created as a passion project by Lee himself, the series has never been published or produced until now. The story follows a corrupt fighter that re-evaluates his purpose after an attempt at revenge goes off course. Lee’s daughter Shannon found notes on the project after her father passed away in 1973 at the age of 32. The series will mark the first project to be produced by Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment television division.
Known for his work on the Fast and Furious franchise, Lin has directed the first two episodes of the upcoming second season of the HBO series True Detective. He is set to direct a number of high profile projects, including Star Trek 3 and a Bourne sequel starring Jeremy Renner.
Lin is repped by CAA and Cinetic Management.
