Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly will helm the animated ANGRY BIRDS movie as their directorial debut. The plot is still being kept under wraps but I’m guessing it’ll involve some docile birds peacefully watching the hustle and bustle of New York from the safety of a skyscraper. Or not. Who knows? I’m kidding! It’s based on the popular mobile games franchise and it’ll have as much high velocity antics as I’m sure we can handle.
Jon Vitti (“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”) will pen the script. Producing will be David Maisel and Catherine Winder through Rovio Entertainment.
Kaytis has previously worked as an animator on “Wreck-It Ralph” and most recently the “Paperman” short. Reilly has worked as a storyboard artist on “The Smurfs” and most recently “Hotel Transylvania.”
