Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent have all joined the cast of PADDINGTON alongside Hugh Bonneville. The story follows a talking bear who is adopted by a London family after finding him abandoned at Paddington Station. Firth will voice Paddington while Kidman will play the bad gal of the movie, an evil taxidermist. Hawkins will play the Mrs. Brown to Bonneville’s Mr. Brown. Broadbent will play an antiques dealer named Mr. Gruber while Walters will play the Browns’ housekeeper, Mrs. Bird.
Paul King will direct from his own script while David Heyman produces.
Firth and Kidman will next be seen in “The Railway Man.” Hawkins can still be seen in “Blue Jasmine” and will next turn up in “Godzilla.” Next on Walters’ horizon is “Effie Gray” while Broadbent has the short film “The Phone Call” (which also stars Hawkins) and “Postman Pat: The Movie – You Know You’re the One” next on his plate.
