The 1980s Eclipse comic book SCOUT by legendary comic book artist Timothy Truman is set to get the big screen treatment courtesy of Studio 8. The company recently acquired the film option to the action/adventure series with Chris MacBride on board to write and direct the adaptation.
The series follows an Apache ex-Army Ranger who, while on a personal/spiritual mission, investigates the disappearance of young women and in the process uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving local gangs, human slavers, oil companies and corrupt government officials.
Truman will serve as a consultant during development while Hell or High Water executive producer Braden Aftergood at Eighty Two Films has signed on to produce. Jon Silk, Executive VP of creative at Studio 8 will oversee alongside Greg Self.
MacBride’s script for the thriller Echo landed on the Black List in 2014 and sold to 20th Century Fox. He also sold his pitch for another comic book series, Amnesia, to Sony.
