Eddie Redmayne is the Oprah of magic wands.
The Academy Award-winning actor took the stage at Comic-Con in Hall H on Saturday and, sticking to the vibe of his character from the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off, FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM, he playfully pulled out a wand to control the lighting in the huge presentation hall.
Not getting the results he wanted from his “lumos” spell (even though it is one of the easiest spells), he stepped off the stage and asked for help from the people in the audience and started handing out wands. Soon after he said that everyone in the 6,500-seat presentation hall would be getting a wand.
After the excitement of the “You get a wand! And you get a wand! And you get a wand!” moment died down, Redmayne was joined by Fantastic Beasts director David Yates and co-stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Colin Farrell for a look at a new fantastical trailer for the movie that included more story, a glimpse at some creatures from Newt Scamander’s suitcase, and some good ol’ fashioned J.K. Rowling-brand magic.
