The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts has released the nominees for its fifth annual International Awards. With five nominations including for Best Film, The Weinstein Company’s Carol leads the pack, landing a nod in essentially every category for which it is eligible. Close behind, Paramount’s The Big Short landed four nominations. Warner Bros’ Mad Max: Fury Road, Fox’s The Revenant, and Fox’s The Martian each earned three nods, but Open Road Films’ Spotlight rounds out the nominees for Best Film over The Martian. The AACTA winners will be announced in Los Angeles on January 29.
