Turns out that the Hellblazer isn’t completely damned yet. Sources from TCA 2015 have reported that Matt Ryan will return as the Liverpudlian magician on an upcoming episode of ARROW. Could this be a subtle hint that the necromancer’s series is going to be brought back from the dead?
Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim says in his statement, “We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow. Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired,” and then continues with promising news for the canceled NBC series, “The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to Arrow and the CW’s DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series.”
To further the excitement, actor Matt Ryan has posted on twitter directly:
The Trench Coat is being dusted off. #Constantine #Arrow @CW_Arrow @amellywood looking forward to it. #thisfall pic.twitter.com/fROWx4RJ9o

Unfortunately, no concrete news of the series’ return comes with all this exciting crossover fervor. Constantine was canceled after it’s 13-episode run in May, and after attempts to land the show on Syfy failed, the writers and performers were released from their contracts.
Constantine will appear on Season 4, Episode 5 of Arrow which will air on November 4th, 2015. The fourth season premieres on October 7th on The CW.
