Courtney B. Vance is set to get wrapped up in Universal Pictures’s reboot of THE MUMMY. Vance will join Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, and Jake Johnson for epic action adventure.
Alex Kurtzman is set to direct the script by Prometheus scribe Jon Spaihts. Kurtzman will also produce alongside Chris Morgan and Sean Daniel. Jon Mone and Jay Polidoro will oversee the modern take of the classic monster at Universal.
Details about the plot are being kept under wraps, but it’s been said that Cruise will play a special forces soldier. The Mummy is the first installment of Universal’s plan to make an expanded cinematic universe of classic monsters.
Vance just finished his stint as Johnnie Cochran in the FX series American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ, for which he received critical acclaim. His previous credits include State of Affairs, Masters of Sex, and Revenge.
He is repped by Gersh and Special Artists Agency.
