Hollywood is buzzing at the possibility that John Singleton may not be directing STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON after all, instead Craig Brewer, F Gary Gray and Peter Berg are being thrown into the directing mix. Brewer is best known for his gritty take of the South in his films “Black Snake Moan” and “Hustle & Flow.” Gray has previously collaborated with Ice Cube on the hit comedy “Friday.” Berg is best known for his directing efforts in “Hancock.” Written by Andrea Berloff, the film follows the The true story of Los Angeles based rap group N.W.A., comprised of founding members Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E and Ice Cube.The film is being produced by Cubevision and New Line.
