The CW has released the latest trailer for the new DC superhero drama BLACK LIGHTNING starring Cress Williams. The series will take Legends of Tomorrow‘s slot, though Legends will return at a new date and time in February.
A few teasers have already been released showcasing Jefferson Pierce’s crimefighting. The latest trailer shows a little more of his daughters, as they begin to uncover that superpowers run in the family.
Also starring is Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain James Remar, Christine Adams, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III, Damon Gupton, Salim Akil, and Brock Akil. Black Lightning premieres on The CW January 16 at 9 p.m. following The Flash, check out the trailer below.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Jefferson Pierce is a man wrestling with a secret. Nine years ago, Pierce was gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, which he used to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life and his family on the line, he left his Super Hero days behind. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought.
