Cuba Gooding Jr. will develop a single camera comedy for 20th Century Fox. The project is set in an old school boxing gym in a rejuvenated neighborhood where serious boxers and soccer moms can come together and practice. Gooding is set to create and executive produce the project with Jason Winer of Small Dog Picture Company but, so far, isn’t attached to star. This is a bit of a passion project for Gooding, who has a love of boxing.
Gooding made a name for himself on the big screen in films like “A Few Good Men,” “Jerry Maguire,” and “American Gangster.” He recently starred in Carter Wilson in Lee Daniels’ “The Butler” and is attached to play Civil Rights attorney Fred Gray in Ava DuVernay’s “Selma.”
Gooding is repped by ICM and Bloom, Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal & La Violette.
