D.J. Caruso is in early talks to direct G.I. JOE 3. The series, which is now built around Dwayne Johnson, is based on the iconic toy franchise which follows a group of commandos that fight the deadly terrorist organization known as Cobra. Several directors, including Martin Campbell and sequel director Jon M. Chu, were previously in talks to helm the third installment of the franchise. Jonathan Lemkin wrote the most current draft.
Caruso is known for directing the Shia LaBeouf-led thrillers Disturbia and Eagle Eye. Most recently, the director helmed I Am Number Four and wrote and directed Standing Up. Up next, the busy director will tackle The Disappointments Room, The Art of Making Money, Selling Time, and Invertigo.
