Hawaii Five-0 star Daniel Dae Kim is sticking with CBS as he teams up with Alexi Hawley and Ben Silverman to develop EXHIBIT A at the network. The series is a legal drama based on the South Korean series My Lawyer, Mr. Jo.
The project centers on a disgraced Korean-American prosecutor who finds redemption as a defense lawyer when he pairs with a young idealist attorney and the fight for the underdogs of Los Angeles. If picked up, the series would be one of the few broadcast series to star an Asian lead.
Kim executive produces through his 3AD banner, along with Hawley and Silverman through Propagate. 3AD’s Lindsay Goffman will co-executive produce. Hawley is writing the pilot.
Hawley was a co-showrunner on Castle last year. He previously created the NBC series State of Affairs and was a co-showrunner on Fox’s The Following. He is repped by CAA and The Shuman Company.
Kim currently stars on Hawaii Five-0 but is best known for his work on ABC’s Lost. He is an executive producer on The Good Doctor from David Shore, which has a put pilot commitment at ABC. He is repped by APA, Anonymous Content, and United Agents in the UK.
