Sicario star Daniel Kaluuya has been tapped for the male lead in Jordan Peele’s horror debut, GET OUT. Kaluuya will star as a young African-American man who visits his white girlfriend’s family estate. Girls star Allison Williams will play the girlfriend in question.
Peele makes not only his horror debut, but his directorial debut on the project. Jason Blum is producing under his Blumhouse banner, along with QC Entertainment’s Sean McKittrick and Edward H. Hamm Jr. Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson is executive producing with QC’s Ray Mansfield and Shaun Redick.
When the project was first announced in September, Peele stated that the film “takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since Night Of The Living Dead 47 years ago. It’s long overdue.”
Kaluuya most recently played Emily Blunt’s partner in the crime/thriller Sicario, but has also appeared in Kick-Ass 2 and Johnny English Reborn. He’s also been heavily active in the TV space, starring on series like Babylon, Black Mirror, The Fades, and Skins.
He’s repped by ICM and Troika in the UK.
