Fresh off of yesterday’s report that Falk Hentschel would be spreading his wings to play Hawkman, now Danish actor Casper Crump has been recruited to take on the villainous role of Vandal Savage in DC’S LEGEND OF TOMORROW. The CW series will feature an ensemble of returning favorites and new additions to the CW/DC canon, showcasing a group of heroes and villains who suit up and join forces to take on Savage.
The superhero spinoff series stars Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz and Victor Garber, who have all previously appeared on either Arrow or Flash, as well as newcomers Hentschel, Ciara Renee, and Franz Drameh. Crump will first make his debut as the immortal baddie on a forthcoming Arrow/Flash crossover episode, before claiming his rightful place amongst the cast of Legends.
Savage, a DC comics fan-favorite menace, is an immortal being and brilliant tactician who has been an architect of crime, chaos, and violence since the beginning of recorded human history. The fiend, who has been stated to be Cain himself, derived his unnatural long life after suffering a bizarre effect from a radiated meteor. Considered an ultimately persistent and unstoppable villain, Savage has served as puppet master and orchestrator of terror in nearly all of mankind’s greatest tragedies, waging war upon the world.
Crump, who is known for starring on the original Danish iteration of The Killing (Forbrydelsen), will next appear in David Yates’ Tarzan adaptation, leading opposite Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie.
