Charlie Cox is set to star alongside Mackenzie Crook (Pirates Of The Caribbean, Game Of Thrones) and Freema Agyeman (Sense8, Doctor Who) in EAT LOCAL. The vampire thriller, written by Danny King, will be Jason Flemyng’s directorial debut.
Eat Local centers on Sebastian, played by newcomer Billy Cook, whose promise of a night of passion with a ravishing woman quickly turns into a fight for survival after she brings him to a remote farmhouse and introduces him to some of her friends — a coven of hungry vampires gathered for their once-every-fifty-years meeting. To complicate the night further, a heavily armed band of mercenary vampire hunters crash the party.
Dexter Fletcher and Eve Myles also star. Jonathan Sothcott and Neil Jones of Hereford Films and Rod Smith of Evolution Pictures are producing. Filming is currently underway in Hertfordshire.
The project reunites Cox and Flemyng, who both starred in Matthew Vaughn’s Stardust. Cox, repped by WME and United Agents, is now best known as Matt Murdock, the titular hero of Marvel’s Daredevil series. Flemyng’s extensive acting credits include several more collaborations with Vaughn, such as X-Men: First Class and Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels. He is repped by APA and 42.
