Daren Kagasoff has joined the cast of the long gestating OUIJA, based on the popular board game. The story follows a group of teens playing with a Ouija board who make contact with an evil spirit and desperately try to close the door they’ve opened before meeting their own fate. Kagasoff will play Trevor who is described as “the handsome boyfriend who is skeptical about reaching out to their dead friend.”
They literally describe his character as the handsome one. I can’t wait to see what other cutting edge character types make it into the movie. Perhaps there will be a “pretty one” and a “nerdy one” and a “stoner one” too. But who knows, maybe it’ll be more “Cabin in the Woods” character typecasting and less let’s just take characters from “Scooby Doo” and put them in a horror movie typecasting. Regardless, I’ll probably still see it.
Juliet Snowden and Stiles White are the latest scribes to take a stab at the script and they’ll also direct as well. Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Bennett Schneir, Brian Goldner and Daniel Persitz will produce.
Kagasoff is best known for “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and will be making his feature debut in the movie.
He is repped by Gersh.
