David Arquette and Lili Simmons are set to join the growing cast of the horror western, BONE TOMAHAWK. Arquette and Simmons join recent cast additions Patrick Wilson and Matthew Fox. The film also currently stars Kurt Russell, Peter Sarsgaard, Richard Jenkins, Jennifer Carpenter and Timothy Olyphant. New cast additions also include Sid Haig, Kathryn Morris and Evan Jonigkeit. Simmons is set to play the astute doctor of the small town and wife to Patrick Wilson’s character. Arquette will star as a violent bandit, whose deeds unleash a powder keg of dangerous repercussions. The film is written by and marks the directorial debut of S. Craig Zahler.
Primarily a television actress, Simmons was recently known for a stint of television roles including the “Hawaii Five-O” remake, the short-lived “Vegas” and the Cinemax series “Banshee.” Most notably, Simmons starred as a mistress to Woody Harrelson’s character on the hit HBO series “True Detective.” Simmon’s film work is currently diminutive, with her only roles being in independent features “Fat Kid Rules The World” and the upcoming “The Guilty Innocent.”
No stranger to film, Arquette has a slew of upcoming independent feature work. The “Scream” actor is currently starring in the upcoming comedy “Muffin Top: A Love Story,” “Casual Encounters,” “Evan’s Crime” and the drama “The Key.” Most recently, he starred in the action drama “Field of Lost Shoes,” “The Cottage” and the fourth installment of the horror franchise “Scream.” Arquette’s work behind the camera has arisen in recent years with his role as executive producer on the Courtney Cox comedy “Cougar Town.” Arquette recently developed the game show “Celebrity Name Game,” along with Cox, hosted by former “Late Late Show” host Craig Ferguson.
