David Ayer, Chris Long’s Cedar Park Options Political Drama “Cointelpro”

It’s been less than three months since filmmaker and his Cedar Park partner set up shop, and the new indie studio has optioned the rights to the political drama .

Written by partners and , the is set in 1960s Chicago and deals with a political campaign to tear apart the Civil Rights movement from the inside. It’s named after the FBI’s rogue spy operation set to target progressive political activists.

Long and Ayer will produce the film through Cedar Park, the company’s second project after the mob drama Family Crimes for Starz, which Ayer is . Cedar Park also bought the rights to Stephen King’s narrative poem The Bone Church with plans to turn it into a drama series.

Cedar Park is repped by as is Hendrix, who wrote the  The White Devils. Hendrix is also repped by , while his partner is repped by .
