Ang Lee is getting his untitled THRILLA IN MANILA project moving again as the project has been set up at Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8. The film follows the classic fight between Joe Frazier and Muhammed Ali. David Oyelowo is currently circling the role of Frazier.
The script’s most recent draft was written by Peter Morgan and James Schamus is attached to produce.
Oyelowo is best known for his role in Ava DuVernay’s Selma as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He has gone one to star in A Most Violent Year, Nightingale, and Captive. He recently finished production on United Kingdom opposite Rosamund Pike.
He is repped by CAA, Inphenate, and Hamilton Hodell.
