TV and film producer/director David Slade is set to direct the first two episodes of Sony TV’s POWERS. The superhero fantasy/police procedural is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming and will air on the Sony Playstation Network. Set in a world full of people with superhuman abilities, the series will follow two homicide detectives who protect humans and investigate crimes committed by people with abilities, called Powers, who clash high above cities, oblivious to the people below.
Slade is best known for directing “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “30 Days of Night” for the big screen but he has also directed episodes of “Breaking Bad,” “Crossbones,” and “Hannibal,” which he also executive produces. Next up, Slade is attached to direct “Widow,” a thriller about a young woman who meets a widow but discovers it was a sinister set up.
