JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK took a big hit when it lost Guillermo del Toro as its director, but now that Scott Rudin has signed onto produce it looks like things are full steam ahead for the project as rumors begin swirling for casting and directing options.

The project follows a team of superheroes who handle the “weirder” elements of the DC Universe. According to reports, Colin Farrell is a favorite for the role of team leader John Constantine, Ron Perlman for Swamp Thing, Ben Mendelsohn as Anton Arcane, Ewan McGregor for Jason Blood/The Demon, and Monica Bellucci for Madame Xanadu.

For the role of Deadman, the WB is rumored to be looking for a comedic actor and an “unknown” for Zatanna.

On the directing side, the studio is looking at Fede Alvarez, who helmed the Evil Dead remake or the pair behind Big Bad Wolves, Aharon Keshales & Navot Papushado.

The film is still in early development but the goal is for production to begin in early 2016.
