John Wick director David Leitch is in talks to replace Tim Miller for Deadpool 2. Miller, who directed the first film and was working on the story for the sequel, exited the project recently after creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds.
The film will see Reynolds reprise his role from the first film and will be joined by fan favorites Cable and Domino, with many big names already buzzing for the latter role.
There are a few other names in the mix to direct the actioner in addition to Leitch, including Drew Goddard and Magnus Martens, but Leitch reportedly met with producers on Thursday and may be emerging a frontrunner. There is currently no offer on the table as producers continue to meet with other candidates.
Leitch is best known for the Keanu Reeves-starring John Wick where he made his directorial debut. He created 87eleven, a stunt company, alongside Chad Stahelski and the pair have also worked as second unit directors on Ninja Assassin and Captain America: Civil War.
He is repped by WME.
