20th Century Fox
The release of UNTITLED DEADPOOL SEQUEL is just over three months away, and while 20th Century Fox is taking their time coming up with a title (presuming they won’t just go with “Untitled Deadpool Sequel,” which would be in line with the irreverence of the character and first movie), the studio has just released a new teaser that introduces Josh Brolin as Cable.
The sequel to the 2016 blockbuster hit that grossed more than $783 million worldwide might have lost the original’s plum Presidents Day weekend to Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, but Ryan Reynolds’ merc with a mouth will still have a presence in theaters, presuming that the NSFW language in the teaser passes the MPAA muster.
Either way, it’s another fun teaser that shows off some of the action to expect in the sequel including a few shots of Zazie Beetz as Domino, Cable’s right-hand woman and the third member of the mutant group X-Force.
You would think that Fox would want to keep the plot of the sequel under wraps, but instead, they’ve released this official synopsis (likely written by Deadpool himself):
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Check out the teaser below with the full movie coming out on May 18.
