Netflix has tapped Deborah Ann Woll to play Karen Page on DAREDEVIL. The series follows Matt Murdock, a lawyer by day and superhero by night, whose sense have been enhanced to superhuman levels by the same accident that blinded him. Page, an important character from the original Marvel comics, is a secretary at Murdock’s law firm, and eventually becomes his love interest and confidant. Woll joins Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Elden Henson as Murdock’s best friend Foggy Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as the villain The Kingpin, and Rosario Dawson in an as-yet unidentified role.
Karen Page’s inclusion in the 13-episode series will be exciting to fans of the original comics, as the character had only a minor role in the other major “Daredevil” adaptation, the 2003 Ben Affleck film. It may also be exciting to fans of the soon-to-end “True Blood,” on which Woll is a series regular. Woll has also appeared in “Ruby Sparks,” “Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You,” and as a guest actor on “CSI,” “My Name Is Earl,” and the short-lived (but beloved) Damian Lewis cop show, “Life.”
Woll is repped by CAA.
