The film is inspired by real events and centers Sonia, a young Indian village girl, who gets entrapped in the global sex trafficking network. Her journey will take her from India to Los Angeles via Hong Kong and will include dialogue in Hindi, Mandarin, and English.
Noorani, who wrote the script, is also producing the film with Big Stuff’s David Womark.
Moore is a co-founder of THORN, a non-profit that works to combat child sexual exploitation. She will play a social worker in the film. She next stars in Wild Oats with Jessica Lange and Shirley MacLaine and most recently starred in Forsaken and The Better Half.
Duplass will play a wealthy man who meets Sonia in Los Angeles. His television series Togetherness recently came to an end on HBO. More recently he penned Table 19, due out next year and was last seen on The Mindy Project.
